Hadar Fisher, PhD

Principal Investigator

Dr. Fisher is a clinical psychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Bar-Ilan University. Dr. Fisher received her PhD from Bar-Ilan University and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Haifa’s Data Science Research Center and at Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital.

Her research examines how emotional processes contribute to the development and treatment of depression, with particular attention to affect dynamics, emotion regulation in daily life, adolescent depression, and mechanisms of change in psychotherapy. A central goal of her work is to translate this understanding into better approaches for early identification and personalized intervention. To do so, she integrates clinical and affective science with computational methods, including passive smartphone sensing, natural language processing, large language models (LLMs), machine learning, and facial expression analysis, to capture emotional and behavioral changes as they unfold over time. Her work has appeared in Nature, Nature Reviews Psychology, npj Digital Medicine, Emotion, Clinical Psychological Science, and Behaviour Research and Therapy, among others.

Gilor Friedman-Zeltzer

Gilor Friedman-Zeltzer

PhD Student

Gilor Friedman-Zeltzer is a doctoral student. She is a specialist clinical psychologist and a certified Unified Protocol (UP) trainer and supervisor through the Unified Protocol Institute (UPI). Alongside her private practice, she provides UP-based supervision at a trauma recovery center. She earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with honors from Ruppin Academic Center, following graduate training in educational counseling at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her doctoral research examines therapists' emotional experiences as mechanisms of therapeutic change, specifically how therapists' moment-to-moment emotional trajectories and their ability to move flexibly across emotional states shape patients' emotional processing and treatment outcomes. She combines automated facial-expression analysis, structured video-recall measures of therapist affect, and large language models to capture emotional processing from session transcripts.

Shiri Reznik

Shiri Reznik

PhD Student

Shiri Reznik is an incoming Ph.D. student. Her research interests center on interpersonal dynamics and the use of innovative methods to understand how social interactions shape psychological well-being. She earned her B.A. in Behavioral Sciences from Ben-Gurion University and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her master's research examined idiographic processes within romantic couples' conflicts. Her doctoral research will use passive sensing and intensive longitudinal methods to study depression within adolescent-parent dyads, with the goal of advancing our understanding of interpersonal processes and informing future interventions. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, listening to music, traveling, practicing yoga, and running.
